Sometimes it happens, for various reasons, that the rear face of the head breaks, being a rather delicate area.

In these case, after reconstructing the part with the original pieces, I insert a new section of wood and slightly shorten the mortise.

When the Ivory tip is subsituted the repair proves invisible and functional.
