Restoring an old Bow I have always as a fundamental criterion to replace the minimum original parts and only when it is absolutely unavoidable.
In this occasion we had a beautiful Cello Bow made by Francois Nicolas Voirin, rendered unusable by a misguided attempt to repair the head that let it unrecoverable.
Therefore me and the owners decided to perform a restoration rather invasive: cut off the original head and replace it. Because of the original head was unrecognizable, I have used as a model another and very similar Bow of the same Master.
